Continue reading »]]> As we warned a few weeks back, Studios Wednesdays has been taken over by The Muppets! Last week we presented a wide angle shot of the Lockers at the entrance of Stage One Company and today we are taking a look inside each locker to see which Muppet they belong to.

Kermit's Locker

The space above the large metallic K obviously belongs to the head Muppet himself, Kermit the Frog. A miniature banjo is propped against a large green jar labeled FLIES. A pair of Kermit sized cowboy boots sit close to the front of the locker while mementos of New York City line it’s walls.

Miss Piggy's Locker

Not surprising, Miss Piggy’s locker is located directly next to Kermit’s space. A hot pink feathered boa hangs from one side while a soft pink towel, red bow and padded clothing hangers adorn the back of the locker. Flowers and a heart shaped box hints of an amphibian love affair as an ornate telephone waits for a call from next door.

Rowlf the Dog's Locker

The next locker is scattered with music references and K-9 pinups that indicate this space belongs to Rowlf the Dog. Sheet music is scattered throughout along with an official looking certificate from the No Note Music Academy.

Janice's Locker

Loosely veiled with a colorful beaded curtain is the locker of Janice; lead guitar player and occasional singer for Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem. Overflowing with flower power, the locker walls repeat the hippie mantra of Peace and Love. A pair of ukuleles lie among the bright colors and round out the locker’s vibe.

Animal's Locker

The most understated locker has to be that of The Electric Mayhem’s wild drummer Animal. Sparse and mysterious, the space only contains a pair of rusty old shackles and a beat-up blue pail.

As you have seen, the lockers inside Stage One Company are literally packed with Muppet references. But wait, we have purposely omitted the final locker! Now it is up to you to deduce what Muppet the final space belongs to. So next time you are in Stage One Company, make your way over to the lockers and match the Muppet.

Continue reading »]]> Tucked away in an often forgotten corner of Future World East in Epcot you will find The Universe of Energy. The pavilion begins at this very insignificant spot; a point from which the landscape and architecture grows to enormous proportions. The building’s design even seems to mirror the story within it’s walls. ”See that single point of very hot, very dense matter? It contains all the energy in the universe, that’s about to expand. At an astonishing rate!” The building’s exterior expands just like that energy; each section growing larger after the other and all starting at this single point.

The Universe of Energy begins here.

Continue reading »]]> Comfortably nestled in the back of Fantasyland at The Magic Kingdom you will find The Pinocchio Village Haus Restaurant. The restaurant’s theming mirrors the same German/Italian fusion as the classic 1940 animated feature Pinocchio and offers a quick-service selection of Italian inspired dishes inside.

The menu selections are just what you would expect from a restaurant within the boundaries of Fantasyland; kid friendly and (in this instance) loaded with Italian-American favorites. During our visit we sampled a number of items from the menu starting with a serving of Bread Sticks with Pizza Sauce. If you consider yourself a tomato soup aficionado then don’t skip on the Tomato Basil Soup; heavy on the crème and perfect for bread stick dipping. If meat is not on your own personal menu then be sure to ask for the Vegetarian Mediterranean Salad; not only did they remove the chicken but they also knocked off $2 from the price.

The star of the show at The Pinocchio Village Haus Restaurant has to be the bird’s eye view of It’s A Small World. If you are patient enough then snag a window seat overlooking the queue and waterway entrance to this classic Disney attraction.

Continue reading »]]> Marriam-Webster defines the word Oasis as something that provides refuge, relief, or pleasant contrast; The Oasis at the entrance of Disney’s Animal Kingdom is all that and more. It is home to many animal habitats, exotic vegetation, running water and winding paths that lead to Discovery Island. Think of it as the opening credits for the magic and adventure that is just around the bend, peaking out from behind a lush tree.

The Oasis begins with a delicate pool of water surrounded by various plants and occupied by roseate spoonbills, ducks, and other feathered friends.
